Police statement on Clifton Road in Southport incident

"We can confirm that officers are in attendance on Clifton Road in Southport today (Saturday 8 October). At around 12.15pm officers were called to a report of a man on the roof of a property.

"A cordon remains in place around the area as a precaution while officers are at the scene. The man came down from the property at around 4pm and is being taken to hospital for assessment.

"Members of the public are advised to avoid the area. Thank you for your patience as we deal with this incident."
