Sefton Council is proud to announce that its construction partner for delivery of the Strand project, VINCI Building, has been awarded the prestigious NPEA Social Value Excellence in Action Award for their outstanding contribution to the regeneration of Bootle.

The award recognises the exceptional social value delivered during the early stages of the Strand redevelopment, particularly throughout the demolition phase. Judges praised the strong relationships built with local community groups and key stakeholders, as well as the meaningful impact already achieved across Sefton.

This recognition highlights the shared commitment of Sefton Council and VINCI Building in creating a positive legacy for Bootle, ensuring that the regeneration project delivers far more than physical transformation by bringing real benefits to local people and communities.

Cllr Paulette Lappin, Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Skills and Employment, said

“This award is a fantastic recognition of VINCI Building and Sefton Council’s commitment to delivering real benefits for our communities here in Bootle. This work is already making a tangible difference. Our vision for a regeneration project that puts people at its heart and leaves a legacy for Sefton has been integral to our procurement strategy for the project, and we are delighted to have a partner that shares our vision and values.”

The Strand project is a cornerstone of Sefton Council’s ambitious plans to revitalise Bootle, creating a vibrant town centre that supports economic growth, community wellbeing and long-term sustainability.
