Postal worker slashed with knife in Foul Lane Southport
Merseyside Police said: “We are appealing for information after a man was stabbed following a robbery in Southport.
“At around 5.25am this morning (Friday 2 August) we received a report of a robbery on Foul Lane in Southport.
“It was reported that a man was stopped by a group of men who demanded his mobile phone. He was then attacked by one of the men and suffered slash wounds to his arms. The men then walked away from the area leaving the victim who was treated in hospital for his injuries.”
Detective Inspector Paul McVeigh said: “We are in the early stages of investigating what was a violent attack on a man who was assaulted and left with slash wounds after a group of offenders stole his mobile.
“If you were on Foul Lane or High Park and saw the attack or the group of suspects early this morning please contact us. Similarly if you live in the area and have any CCTV footage of the attack from early this morning please call police immediately so we can find those responsible.
”Information from our community is vital if we are to stop such violent crimes that causes fear in our communities.”
