Pre season friendly. Mossley 2 Southport 2
A very bright start from the visitors playing some neat football saw a 2-0 lead inside 25 minutes with goals from Harry Flowers, a bullet header from a corner and Marcus Carver who slotted home after finding space in the area.
It all got a bit scrappy after that and Mossley got a goal back in the 35th minute with the ball seeming to take a massive bobble and over the body of Chris Renshaw in the Southport goal.
Mossley got the equaliser their play deserved almost straight after the break and shortly after that had another great chance to take the lead.
Connor Heath fired over on 67 minutes and in the final minute Niall Watson had a shot against the post but overall a draw was a fair result in another useful workout for The Sandgrounders.
We move on to Runcorn Linnets on Saturday, Kick Off 3pm, for our final pre-season game and we will be bringing a full pre season round up and a look forward to the new season with manager Liam Watson after the game.
