Pupil at Greenbank High School in Southport found with a knife in her possession
The Head Teacher has emailed worried parents after a pupil was found with a knife at the all girls school on Tuesday. Merseyside police have been informed of the incident.
The Head said...
I am writing to make you aware that yesterday one of our pupils was found with a knife in school. Please be assured that this is a very rare incident and is being investigated with the utmost urgency and the relevant steps are being taken.
"It is a reminder of the importance of talking to young people about knives and that carrying a knife is a criminal offence that poses a risk of harm to the individual and the community. I will do a brief assembly with all pupils regarding this in the morning and there are planned sessions on knife crime after the Spring break.
As ever, it is key to work together to support young people with this and would ask that all parents and carers regularly discuss this aspect of your child’s safety with them.
