Quick Police Response Ends in Arrest of 17-Year-Old in Southport
Police arrested a 17-year-old boy in Southport town centre yesterday (Thursday) after reports a teenager riding a bike towards people in Cambridge Arcade threatened a couple who challenged him.
Response and Resolution and Neighbourhood Officers in the town centre responded to the report and detained the suspect at Southport Train Station.
He was stopped and searched, and a 17-year-old arrested on suspicion of a public order offence.
The incident will now be managed by the Youth Offending Team.
Inspector Graham Fisher said: “We were able to respond rapidly and effectively to this incident thanks to the presence of officers on duty in the town centre.
