Range Rover Evoke driven past the end of Southport Pier heading for Lytham with a family in it
At approximately 9.45 yesterday evening the driver of a Range Rover evoke drove onto Southport beach and headed north towards Lytham. The vehicle soon became stuck.
Luckily for the driver the tide was out. According to a Sefton Ranger the driver of the vehicle had family including children in the car.
The family were escorted back to the sea wall by the Coastguard.
The sea has swamped the Range Rover overnight and will do so again this afternoon
