Woodlands Animal Sanctuary’s postponed Easter Open Day returns as an Open Day & Treasure Hunt on Saturday 16th May — with bouncy castles, a fun dog show, agility displays, stalls, games, refreshments, and the chance to meet the animals.

Woodlands Animal Sanctuary is delighted to confirm its Open Day & Treasure Hunt on Saturday 16th May 2025 (11am–3pm) at their site in Holmeswood, West Lancashire — the rescheduled community event following the Easter Open Day postponement due to adverse weather. Families can expect a full programme of entertainment alongside the opportunity to meet the sanctuary’s animals and support its rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming work.

With a packed programme of activities, entertainment, food, and of course the animals themselves, this is one of the highlights of the Woodlands calendar — and with tickets already available online, families are encouraged to secure their places early.

The day is packed with something for everyone, including:

  • Treasure Hunt: Follow the clues around the sanctuary grounds for a fun adventure the whole family can enjoy

  • Bouncy Castles: Guaranteed to keep the little ones entertained throughout the day

  • Fun Dog Show: Enter your four-legged friend or simply cheer from the sidelines — all welcome

  • Dog Agility Display by Sabre Dog Training: Watch skilled handlers and their dogs demonstrate the art of agility in an exciting live display

  • Stalls & Games: Browse a variety of stalls and take part in games for all ages

  • Teddy Tombola: Try your luck and take home a furry friend

  • Tasty Refreshments: Treat yourself to food and drink available throughout the day

  • Meet the Animals: The moment everyone looks forward to — meet all the animals at the sanctuary in person, from cats and hens to ponies, donkeys, goats, and more
