Rise in Overnight Vehicle Thefts in Southport Prompts Police Appeal

Police are investigating one attempted theft from a car and one theft of tools from a van in Dinorwic Road in Southport, which took place overnight last night, Thursday 2nd to Friday 3rd November. Entry wasn't gained to one vehicle but sadly a significant value of tools were stolen from the van.


PCSO's have conducted house to house enquiries to look for CCTV witnesses and residents in the local area will have received letters about this. The offender(s) is/are likely to have looked at other vehicles in the area, so even if you haven't received a letter, if you have CCTV, doorbell cameras or dashcams that may have captured the thieves, please contact us quoting crime reference number 23001090700.


Clearly, thieves are looking for items of value left in cars/vans overnight in this area, and two cars have been stolen from Liverpool Road over the last 10 days. Vehicle owners are advised to remove everything of value before parking up for the night and to report any suspicious activity you see around vehicles overnight.
