Rise of Opportunistic Car Thieves in Southport Triggers Safety Warning

Police are aware of an incident where a person was seen trying to open the door of cars on Norwood Crescent in Southport at 02:30am this morning. The cars were locked and no entry was gained however, this is a reminder for vehicle owners that opportunists are looking for the one car that has been left unlocked to take advantage of that.
Always double check that you have locked your vehicle when parked up for the night and ensure that all items of value are removed. That includes bags, purses, wallets, coats, tools etc. Don't even leave a plastic bag on view in your vehicle.
