RNLI in concern for safety of lone woman on Southport Beach

The RNLI Lifeguards spotted a lone woman a long way from the shore on Southport Beach this morning. The woman was in the area north of the Pier where the grass and mud has taken over.
A Lifeguard took off his shoes and socks and walked with some difficulty out to the woman who was fine .
The woman was picking Samphire had a conversation with the Lifeguard who no doubt warned her about the tides and the dangers of deep water. After a couple of minutes he returned to the shore leaving the woman to carry on picking the Samphire.
Samphire, also known as glasswort or sea asparagus, is a succulent, salty, and crisp sea vegetable that grows in coastal and marshy areas .It's a popular ingredient, especially with seafood, due to its unique salty flavour.
