A BMW driver suffered serious damage to their car today at approximately 11.50am on Liverpool Road in Southport between The Crown Hotel and Carr Lane. It is not known if the driver hit something or suffered mechanical failure. No other vehicles appeared to be involved but these are pictures sent to eyeonsouthport.co.uk. The driver was not injured.

Police directed traffic around the incident until the vehicle was removed.
