Sailings and Southport Community First Response Team Join Forces to Deliver Defibrillation Training

Southport Community First Response Team leader Jonathan Cunningham delivered free CPR and defibrillation training to the residents and staff at The Sailings Retirement Living in Southport.

Jonathan congratulated the residents who under the leadership of home owners Peter Dalton and Colin Redwood successfully raised over £1500 from the residents for a defibrillator and wall mounted display.

Colin got in touch with Northwest Ambulance Service who passed the details onto the Southport Community First Response Team for assistance.

Jonathan said ‘I was delighted to be able to assist. I was so impressed with the residents collective fund raising. Simple first aid and ready access to a defibrillator make a significant improvement in survival rates to those who may have suffered a cardiac episode.

Southport CFR team is here to assist all community groups and is always happy to provide defibrillation and CPR training in the community’
