Sandgrounders Set for Epic Clash with High Flying Scunthorpe United

match preview

It’s a Tuesday night away for the Sandgrounders with a trip to high flying Scunthorpe United. The Kick Off is at 7.45pm.

Both sides had FA Trophy wins on Saturday with our hosts beating Darlington 2-0.

Manager Jim Bentley will be running an anxious eye over his squad with a few players in doubt due to injury or unavailabilty.

Scunthorpe have lost just one game at home, the “infamous” late abandoned game that was replayed against Buxton. Their last three games have seen a 6-0, 6-1 and 2-0 home win and after a 3-1 defaet at King’s Lynn last week they sit in third place.

For those unable to make it to Glanford Park, our first ever visit, the game will be streamed on NLTV.

We did of course play Scunthorpe on 30 occasions in the Football League and once in the FA Cup as a Non League side all opf which were played at The Old Show Ground.
