Schoolboy on his way to school chased by a man on Norwood Road Southport.

A schoolboy was chased by a unknown man on his way to school at 08.20 this morning.

The incident was on Norwood Road close to the bottom of the bridge.

Merseyside Police commented....

"At around 8.20am this morning (Thursday 7 October), we received a report of a man acting suspiciously on Norwood Road, Southport. It was reported that a man chased a boy down the road while the boy was on his way to school.

The man was described as white male, aged in his 30s, around 6ft 4in tall, of large build, with dark hair wearing a checked shirt and dark blue jeans.

"The boy was uninjured but left shaken by the incident.Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and patrols have been stepped up in the area.
