Will it be Paddy the Caddy or Kate Binslet?

Sefton Council is calling on local school pupils and residents to help it name a brand-new fleet of food waste collection vehicles.

These shiny new trucks will hit the road when weekly food waste collections begin across Sefton in Autumn 2026. And they want each one to have its own unique name and personality.

Creative, family-friendly names

We’re only looking for creative, family-friendly names with a food waste or recycling theme.

Whether you’re a pun master, a recycling champion, or just love a bit of fun, they want to hear your ideas.

You could be inspired by a celebrity or pop culture like Paddy the Caddy, Kate Binslet.

It could be something funny such as Peels on Wheels or Bin Appetit.

Or even something themed - maybe your favourite historical figure and it can be descriptive, such as Ada Lovewaste or The Compost Crusader.

The winning names will be proudly displayed on the vehicles, and winners will be invited for a special photo opportunity with their named truck!
