Serious incident Ainsdale Beach in Southport

Emergency paramedics were called to the entrance of Ainsdale Beach at approximately 2.15 today (8th March) following a 999 call.

A person was on the floor covered in blankets receiving treatment from the emergency response team. It is not known at the moment what happened

As the person was being treated the North West Air Ambulance flew low over the scene. It did not appear to land. Minutes later a Coastguard rescue helicopter also flew over at low altitude but did not land.
