Serious incident Albert Road Southport.Two builders injured after wall collapses.

Police have closed off a section of Albert Road in Southport this afternoon. All the emergency services are on scene including the Air Ambulance which has landed on the nearby golf course.

A building has been evacuated by the emergency services.

Please be aware of a current road closures in Southport, Albert Road/Gordon St and Alexander Rd are closed due to an incident. Please find an alternative route.

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service are leading the emergency services in this ongoing incident.

The block of flats has been evacuated after an internal wall collapsed during building work injuring two contractors who were taken to hospital.

A spokesman for the fire service  said that an internal wall collapsed during conversion work
