Serious incident Sussex Road Railway bridge in Southport. Trains cancelled

Police have closed off Sussex Road where the bridge crosses the railway. There are several ambulances in attendance.

The emergency services are dealing with an incident between Wigan Wallgate and Southport as a result all lines are closed. Trains are unable to run between these stations and will be cancelled or revised to start / terminate at Wigan Wallgate.

Disruption is expected until 12:00.
