Serious Police incident overnight in Scarisbrick Avenue, Southport

Officers from Merseyside Police were called to Scarisbrick Avenue in the early hours of Sunday Morning following reports of an assault. The Police helicopter was also deployed.

The area is now cordoned off by scientific support. Blood and blood-stained clothing can be seen on the ground.

Merseyside Police will release a statement in due course.
