Customers in one of Southports most popular supermarkets were shocked today to find that the defibrillator had stopped working due to a global battery shortage.

Anyone helping a person who was suffering a cardiac arrest was advised to go to the next nearest defibrillator at Southport Market  which is a Mile round trip .
