Southport 1 Spennymoor Town 2. Match Report

sfc flood

After a bright opening 25 minutes which saw Josh Hmami put Southport into a 1-0 lead we then conceded two goals and another defeat.

Hmami who was playing so well and fully deserved his goal then unfortunately got a knock and the game seemed to slip away from the home side and he was replaced by Richie Bennett.

Spennymoor equalised in the 31st minnute when nobody picked up Ben Pollock from a corner and hge headed the equaliser.

In what was an incident packed first half with nets breaking, smoke alarms being set off and plenty of goalmouth incidents at both ends the scores were level at the break.

Spennymoor hadn’t won since mid November but didn’t show any signs of lacking in confidence and Ndjoli putting the visitors ahead in the 56th minute when he was left free at the back post and fired home.

Tyler Walton did hit the bar in the 85th minute but it was Chris Renshaw who was playing a starring role in the Southport goal with a string of fine saves keeping the scoreline at 1-2.
