Southport falls silent for 2023 Armistice Day. Video

Hundreds of people gathered at the Monument in Southport this morning to observe two minutes of silence for Armistice Day. A member of the Salvation Army played the Last Post as the town fell silent.

A short service was held to remember the fallen.

Crowds will gather again on Sunday for the annual Remembrance Parade at 10.30.
