Southport FC Star Niall Watson Signs Deal with US Club

Southport FC can confirm that forward Niall Watson has agreed a 2-year deal with US-based club Tormenta FC. 

Based in South Georgia, Niall will link up with his new club – who compete in USL League One – in early January 2024. 

Having joined Southport in October 2020 following his release from Accrington Stanley, Niall has gone on to make 80 starts and 44 sub apperances in all competitions for the club, with a superb return of 33 goals.  

Playing in America has been a long-term ambition for Niall, and he leaves with the very best wishes of everyone at the club. 

Niall has always given everything for the club, is hugely popular in the dressing room and will be leaving having given supporters lots of special memories. The door will remain open for Niall should he ever wish to return to England to play; but for now, we thank him for his services and wish him every success across the pond.
