Southport FC to Host Charity Match in Aid of Families Affected by 2024 Tragedy

Supporting 24 Families Affected by the 2024 Southport Tragedy
Southport FC is proud to announce a special charity football match taking place on Sunday 3rd August at Haig Avenue, in support of 24 families directly affected by the tragic events of 29th July 2024.
This important event is being delivered in partnership with Southport Hesketh Round Table — a local branch of Round Table Great Britain and Ireland, a long-standing voluntary organisation for men aged 18–45, dedicated to community service, fundraising, and social impact.
Southport Hesketh Round Table has already raised nearly £185,000 through their official GoFundMe campaign, working closely with the families affected from the very beginning.
Their compassion, integrity, and practical support make them the perfect partners for this initiative — and we’re proud to stand alongside them.
Much like the popular Soccer Aid event, this match will feature a mix of celebrities and ex/professional footballers, coming together for a fantastic cause. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:00pm, with gates opening earlier to allow fans to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the day’s activities.
This day is about more than football. It’s about showing solidarity, remembering those affected, and raising vital funds to continue helping the families whose lives were changed forever.
A Star-Studded Lineup
We are assembling a fantastic lineup of special guests from the worlds of football, entertainment, music, and social media, all coming together to support this powerful cause.
Full announcements will be made over the coming weeks — keep an eye on our channels for updates.
