Southport FC Welcomes Centre-Back Luke Tabone to the Squad

Luke Tabone Becomes Second New Summer Signing
We’re delighted to announce the signing of centre-back Luke Tabone, following his departure from Cymru Premier side Haverfordwest County, subject to international clearance.
Manager Neil Danns has made the 6ft 4in defender his second new summer addition, penning a one-year deal with an extra year option in the Club’s favour.
The 27-year old has featured for the Maltese National Team, first being called up in March 2023 for the UEFA European Championship qualifying matches against North Macedonia and Italy. Luke made the bench for the match against North Macedonia. He made his national team debut as a second half substitute against Greece in June 2024.
Luke came through the youth systems of Nadur Youngsters, on the island of Gozo in Malta, and Burnley. He then returned to Nadur Youngsters in 2018, where he made his senior debut.
In 2023, Luke signed for Haverfordwest County in the Cymru Premier. He was part of a record-breaking side last season, who achieved the Club’s highest points tally in a 12-team Cymru Premier, whilst also qualifying for the UEFA Conference League.
