Southport Liberal Democrats Grateful to Authorities Following Hart Street Attack Sentencing

Following the sentencing of the perpetrator of the 29th July 2024 Hart Street attack, Southport Liberal Democrats would like to thank all those involved in bringing them to justice.
Our thoughts are first and foremost with the families of Bebe, Elsie Dot and Alice and the other victims. They will rightly be the focus of all of our reflections.
We take our role in scrutinising decision making extremely seriously. There are important questions which must be asked and we will not shy away from doing so. These are necessary if we are to understand exactly what happened and how it can be prevented from ever happening again.
Alongside this, we will play a full part in helping our communities to continue to heal. The safety and well-being of residents continues to be our priority. We have seen many wonderful, kind acts in response to this tragedy and Southport has shown itself to be the compassionate and united town that we know it is.
The impacts of this attack will be felt for a long time to come and we will be with our communities for every step.
Finally, and most importantly, we remember those who we have lost and will play our part in making sure that they are never forgotten.
