Southport Lifeboat and Lytham RNLI rescue 3 people trying to walk to Blackpool
A spokesperson for the Lifeboat commented...
Our ATV quad bikes and Inshore Lifeboat were tasked by Holyhead Coastguard to reports of three people attempting to walk to Blackpool from Southport.
Our quads entered the beach at Rainford’s Track and quickly obtained a visual on the casualties who were walking amongst the marshes.
Due to the flooding tide, Southport ILB and Lytham ILB were requested and made way to the scene via the channels in the Ribble Estuary.
Thankfully, the casualties turned around and headed back to Southport where they were met by the quad bikes, Southport Coastguard and the Police who offered safety advice to the individuals.
Our thanks to all involved.
