Southport Lifeboat Assists in Successful Search for Despondent Man

rescue

Southport Lifeboat and quad team tasked to assist Merseyside Police in the search for a despondent male, north of Southport Pier.
NPAS helicopter located the male in the water close to the old Rainford’s sand works, and guided the quad team to the location, whilst the lifeboat launched and then stood by in the Penfold Channel.

The search and rescue trailer was used to transport police and Coastguard officers from Southport out to the track to help bring the male back to safety.
With the male safely back on dry land, all units were stood down. Our crew finished washing down shortly after 4am.
Also involved with the incident were Southport and Crosby Coastguard Rescue Teams.
