Southport Lifeboat find despondent male after long search

Not long after our crew returned from their previous tasking, they were requested by HM Coastguard to search for a despondent male in the region of Southport Pier.

Our quads conducted a search of the beach, both north and south of the pier, while the D-Class stood-by on the slipway ready to launch if requested. 

Our UAS (drone) launched and, using the thermal camera, undertook a search around the pier and the marshes.

After an extensive search, the casualty was located by the mobile coastguard teams near Southport’s Marine Lake.
