Southport Lifeboat launched after person reported missing in the Ribble Estuary

A spokesperson for the Lifeboat said...

Our lifeboat, the ‘Heather White’, launched following reports of a missing person in the vicinity of the Ribble Estuary.

The lifeboat launched at Southport and searched northwards towards the Ribble, after which it entered the estuary and conducted a search alongside Lytham St Anne's RNLI.

After an extensive search, all units were stood down after the person of interest had been located inland.
