Southport Lifeboat Quads the Coastguard and Merseyside Police search the beach

The emergency services including the Southport Lifeboat Quads along with the Coastguard Southport and Merseyside Police were called to the beach today.

Lifeboat Quads were obviously looking for somebody as they patrolled the shore along with the Coastguard.

Specialist teams from the Coastguard arrived at the entrance to the beach. At Weld Road the Lifeboat drone was in action using the camera to scan the shore.

The action then moved to Ainsdale as the Coastguard searched along the shore there.

Asking the emergency services as to what they were looking for was uninformative.

Southport Rescue will issue a statement later.
