Southport Lifeboat Volunteer Crew Responds to Six Tasking Requests from HM Coastguard Holyhead

It’s been a busy Bank Holiday weekend for our volunteer crew, who responded to six tasking requests from HM Coastguard Holyhead.

Thankfully, all were stood down shortly after the initial call, however the crew were ready to leave their families and respond to the taskings when called upon.

One tasking came on Sunday evening as our Arctic 24 lifeboat returned from the River Mersey, where she partook in the Battle of the Atlantic flotilla.

Southport Lifeboat joined @rnli_newbrighton, and a fleet of vessels linked to the Mersey’s rich maritime heritage, for a sail to the mouth of the estuary, passing HMS Defender and The Bretagne (French Navy Frigate).
