Southport man charged with Class A and B drugs offences

A Southport man has been charged with drugs offences as part of an ongoing investigation into drugs supply in Merseyside.

George Powell, 40, of Hillside Road, was arrested yesterday (Thursday 21 July) and charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs (cocaine and heroin) and Class B drugs (cannabis).

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court tomorrow, Saturday 23rd July.

The charges form part of the Merseyside Police response to Operation Venetic: a national investigation into the use of encrypted mobile devices, commonly referred to as Encrochat.
