A Southport man has been jailed for a stalking and other offences against two women.

Andrew Fleming, 41 years, of Hampton Road in Southport, was sentenced to seven and half years in prison with three years on extended licence at Liverpool Crown Court yesterday, Monday 22 December.

The court heard of a catalogue of incidents which took place over an 11 month period involving his former girlfriend during which he tried to get her fired from job, attend other family members addresses looking for her, constantly send messages and made threats to her.

He was arrested in November 2023 and an extensive investigation was carried out resulting in him being charged in September last year.

Fleming pleaded guilty to Disclosing private images and Stalking.

However in September last year while waiting to be sentenced, Fleming committed further offences against another family member. Following a trial earlier this month he was found guilty of two counts of Intimidation, Stalking and Careless Driving.

Yesterday (Monday 22 December) at Liverpool Crown Court Fleming received seven and half years in prison with three years on extended licence.

Detective Inspector Keith Swift said: “Fleming’s catalogue of stalking and harassment directed at his victim and another family member was appalling and distressful to them, it is right that he is now behind bars as a result of his actions.

“While no sentence will repair the damage that he has caused, I hope this will not only them with some justice, but also encourage other victims to come forward and have the confidence in us as a police force to take reports seriously, and ensure offenders are put before the courts so that they can pay for their crimes.

“We have a team of dedicated staff who will expertly and compassionately deal with your reports and we will do everything we can to bring offenders to justice and can pay for their crimes.”
