Southport man jailed for 10 weeks for multiple theft charges

A Southport man has been jailed for 10 weeks by magistrates for stealing a bike and stealing from a shop he was banned from.


Luke Jackson, aged 24 from the town, pleaded guilt to theft of a pedal cycle, theft from a shop and breach of a restraining order.


He was arrested by local officers in the early hours of yesterday (March 9th) and charged and put before the courts today.


Jackson stole the bike on Foul Lane in Southport on February 4th and stole from the shop in the town on February 16th, breaching a court order as he did so.


After pleading guilty, he was jailed by magistrates for 10 weeks and ordered to pay compensation to his victims and court costs.
