We were all disappointed at the late call off today but the rain came late and the pitch simply couldn’t handle the deluge when it came.

Having walked on the pitch about 2.30 the water was still standing and the ball wouldn’t roll or bounce.

Liam gives us his thoughts about the call off.

I have been to every away game bar one this season and I haven't seen a pitch as bad as ours.  How do we have the most expensive pitch in the league and the worst?

Cant believe how much money has gone into that pitch and this is happening. Missed out on a decent crowd and a few quid there.

Why not delay kick off and get forking, the last thing anybody needs is more postponements

Unfair of the ref to do this at such short notice. Seems to have been zero effort on his part to get the game on. Fewer people will go to a rearranged Tuesday game so costing the club potentially £000s. Spare a thought also for the caterers who will lose everything today

It only rained for an hour. They should play on Meols Cop field, that’s fine. Got to question the ref’s decision there. It’s dry now.
