Southport Market is welcoming new vendor Kaizen early next month.

Offering pan-Asian flavours ranging from hot sushi rolls and salads to small plates for sharing Kaizen, will open Unit 9 of Southport Market on Wednesday 6 July.

And, in preparation for their opening next month, Kaizen are advertising for full and part-time front and back of house staff.

Since opening its doors in 2021 at Cedar Farm in West Lancashire, Kaizen has committed to only using locally sourced meat, vegetables and sustainably caught fish. Owners Keith Taylor and James Prescott originally met when they were working on the Formula 1 racing circuit. After working together catering for racing teams and guests, the two friends decided to open their own business together.

Southport Market was given a £1.4m refurbishment in July 2021 and is currently home to nine regular vendors serving food and drink from around the world.

The market regularly hosts popular events in its Extravaganza Room as well as a weekly artisan market where locally made crafts, artwork and homeware are sold.

Welcoming the arrival of Kaizen, Cllr Marion Atkinson, Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Skills, said:

“Kaizen’s opening is another example of the diverse offering of cuisines that make Southport Market so popular, and we’re delighted to be able to support local businesses by hosting them in such a popular central hub.

“Since its refurbishment and re-opening last year, Southport Market has gone from strength to strength.

“Kaizen is the Japanese word for improvement, and the opening of this new vendor will definitely be an improvement to our bustling market.”
