Southport MP is "Extremely Disappointed" after Boris Johnson fined for lockdown rule breach

 “I completely understand the frustration my constituents feel, and which I share.

“Let me be clear: I am extremely disappointed to learn that members of the Government and civil servants have been issued fines for breaches of Covid regulations, which were put in place to protect us all, and which most of us followed throughout the pandemic.

“I have made my discontent clear, and I am glad that the Prime Minister and the Chancellor have both apologised.

“Those at the top of Government now need to work flat-out to maintain the trust of the public and of MPs.

“For my part, all of my efforts continue to be focused on helping Southport and my constituents rebuild from Covid, as we take full advantage of our £38.5 million Town Deal, and work to level up and better connect our town.”
