Southport MP issues statement on alleged Downing Street Christmas party last year

I,like my constituents, did not have the usual family celebration last Christmas, as we in Southport all did the right thing and followed the rules. Sadly, I know some people did not get to see their families again due to the devastating impact of coronavirus.

The allegations of a party at Number 10 Downing Street at Christmas last year needs to be thoroughly investigated, and consequential action needs to be taken if the rules are found to have been broken. I await the outcome of the investigation announced by the Prime Minister.
