Southport MP takes a stand against Sefton Council's inaction on faulty street lighting

Southport MP Damien Moore commented...

Recently, I have unfortunately noticed multiple instances of faulty street lighting in our town, something frequently reflected in my conversations and correspondence with constituents.

Whether it be lighting failures on Lord Street, to the 18 broken posts across the Venetian Bridge, it is unacceptable that our town’s strong reputation as an attractive tourist destination is put at risk by Sefton Council’s inaction.

I have written to the Council about this travesty and have highlighted the serious safety concerns associated with faulty street lighting – whether this is due to exposed wiring, or an increased risk of crime in areas with low levels of light.

If you have faulty lighting in your area, please do write to me, and I will ensure your concerns are taken straight to the Council.
