Southport on the road again on Saturday to play local rivals Chester
After a disappointing night in Kettering on Tuesday when the unbeaten run came to a halt, Southport will be looking to bounce back at Chester on Saturday, kick off 3pm.
The unbeaten record went but it was very nearly retained in added time when a Tyler Walton shot was saved by the ‘keeper…… although a goal kick was awarded. Kettering would have felt hard done by if they hadn’t taken the three points as Southport had an off night against a very impressive looking Kettering side.
We put that one to bed and move on to the second in a run of four away games with Telford on Tuesday and Boston a week on Saturday to come.
A good following is sure to take to the road for a more local game and will be certain to get behind the lads.
Whilst Chester are sitting in 16th place they boast a good home record and were only stopped from taking maximum points by an added time equaliser by high flying Brackley on Tuesday night. They are without a win in the last six games but that does include home draws against Fylde and Brackley.
It has been a long time since we won a league game on the road at Chester, you have to go back twenty years to the 2001/02 season.
