Southport Pier still closed despite the stunning weather

Southport Pier remains closed despite the stunning weather today. The Council closed the Pier in December saying it was unsafe due to ice damage. All the entrances have been boarded up. 

Now 20 days into January and still nothing has been done to sort out a few wobbly planks of wood. This is the number one tourist attraction in Southport. Scores of people would have enjoyed a walk today.

Day trippers will soon be finding somewhere else to go such is the sad state of the Promenade and beach.
