Southport Pleasureland is proud to announce its sponsorship of the Sefton Child of Courage Award as part of the prestigious Grand Pride of Sefton Awards 2024. Following a highly successful inaugural event last year, the awards ceremony is set to take place on Friday, 26th April 2024, at The Grand on Lord Street, Southport.

The Grand Pride of Sefton Awards, now in its second year, is dedicated to honouring the unsung heroes of Sefton, including the communities of Southport, Bootle, Formby, and Crosby. The awards feature 13 diverse categories, each spotlighting the exceptional and often overlooked contributions of individuals across the borough.

Southport Pleasureland’s sponsorship of the Sefton Child of Courage Award highlights the amusement park's commitment to family values and community engagement. Norman Wallis, CEO of Southport Pleasureland, expressed his enthusiasm for the award, stating, “We are honoured to support an award that recognises the bravery and resilience of young individuals in our community. These children are true heroes, and they inspire all of us with their courage.”

This sponsorship aligns with Southport Pleasureland’s extensive history of charitable initiatives, including a 5-year partnership with Alderhey Children’s Hospital and a 12-year collaboration with Queens Court Hospice. These partnerships reflect the company’s dedication to enhancing the lives and well-being of children and families in the region.

The Sefton Child of Courage Award specifically celebrates children who have demonstrated remarkable bravery in the face of challenges. Through this sponsorship, Southport Pleasureland aims to shine a light on these courageous young individuals and encourage the community to come forward with nominations of deserving candidates.
