Southport fell to a seventh defeat in a row after a disappointing 3-1 home defeat to an impressive looking Kidderminster Harriers side.

Manager Liam Watson spoke from the heart after the game and described the performance as woeful and hinted at a number of changes in the close season.

The visitors took the lead after just 20 seconds and Southport were on the back foot from then on.

It was a lacklustre showing but the equaliser came through a penalty after Adam Anson was felled in the box. Charlie Oliver stepped up and comfortably fired home.

This only seemed to spur the visitors on and goals in the 70th and 77th minutes enabled put a fairer reflection on the scoreline.

Results elsewhere do mean that barring a 7 goal turnround with Blyth and Kettering winning at Kidderminster on Saturday we will be playing National League North football again next season.

Southport slip closer to relegation after a 3-1 loss to Kidderminster. They are 3 points off going down. The only team in the bottom four who can catch Southport are Blyth Spartans . Their goal difference is -18 and Southportsis -11. Blyth are at home to Hereford next week and Southport are away at Leamington.

It would need Blyth to win and Southport to lose with a 7 goal swing for the Port to be relegated
