Southport storm to fantastic away win. Farsley Celtic 0 Southport 3
Southport returned from Yorkshire with all three points after a dominant second half performance against Farsley saw the visitors run out 3-0 winners.
It could have been very different if Farsley had made the most of a number of first half chances but failed to capitalise on them.
Southport survived a few scares in the first half but the defence held firm with Adam Anson back to his best at the heart of the back line and managed to see out the half to 0-0.
Cam Mason appeared to be struggling from the start and it came as no surprise when he was replaced after 18 minutes by Tony McMillan.
Southport had offered very little threat in the first period but it was to be a different story after the break.
Making the most of the wind and slope teh vistors scored three without reply.
Adam Anson got the half off to a great start firing home in the 48th minute. Jack Bainbridge had also stung the palms of the Farsley keeper a minute earlier as Southport came out firing.
More chances came and went and it was no surprise when Tyler Walton increased the lead on 68 minutes with a shot that went in off a Farsley defender.
A mix up at the back saw Josh Hmami capitalise and he rounded the keeper to increase th lead in the 77th minute.
Southport had five more good chances to increase the lead as they were breaking away at will but unable to find a finish.
The home side rarely threatened the Southport goal in the second half and it turned out to be a comfortable afternoon in the end,
