Southport Suffer 4-2 Defeat Against Chorley
Defeat on the road after a poor second half sees our hosts run ot 4-2 winners.
It started brightly with Teddy Lavelle giving Southport the lead after just two minutes.
Chorley came back strongly though and went ahead with goals from Blakeman and Popoola in the 17th and 34th minutes. That lead was short lived as DJ Pedro restored parity just two minutes later with his first goal for the club. 2-2 at half time in an entertaining first period.
Unfortunately the home side were much better in the second half and another goal from Blakeman, direct from a corner, in the 63rd minute was followed up three minutes later as Mark Ellis made it 4-2.
Southport offered very little in the second half. It was another makeshift team ravaged by injuries made worse when Luke Burgess was injured in the warm up.
We are back in action on Saturday when Hereford are our visitors in a big game at the wrong end of the table. 3pm Kick Off.
