Southport travel to Alfreton in Derbyshire this Saturday

 Southport hit the road to Derbyshire on Saturday and an 18th meeting with Alfreton Town.

The game kicks off at 3pm and a reminder there is a rail strike so allow plenty of time for travel as the roads are expected to be busy.

The “Yellow Army” are running a coach to the game.

We don’t enjoy the best record at The Impact Arena but buoyed by a great performance on Tuesday night the lads will be raring to go and build on that win,

Alfreton have started the season with three draws 2-2 on the opening day against Chester then two 0-0’s on the road at Farsley and Spennymoor.

We know what to expect with Matt Rhead, who caused the Southport defence all sorts of problems last season and the giant Tom Denton up front.
