Southport travel to Alfreton on Saturday

Southport travel to Alfreton on Saturday looking to put Tuesday’s poor performance at Darlington behind them and bounce back with three points on the road.

Kick Off is at 3pm and a reminder that as part of the National Lottery Football Weekends supporters can get one free ticket with one paid on production of a Lottery Ticket details HERE

It’s an important game for the Sandgrounders, a win will see the play off push bang on course because whilst we have dropped points recently other teams have failed to make up too much ground but there is a pack closing in as the season enters the final ten games.

The supporters coach organised by The Yellow Army will be taking to the road once again and the support will be greatly appreciated.

Once again Liam will be running the rule over the squad looking at the bumps and bruises picked up on Tuesday before naming his starting 11 around 2pm on Saturday.

Alfreton went down 1-0 at Brackley on Tuesday, a scoreline that is no surprise given the excellent clean sheet record of Brackley (now at 22 from 32 games). Their last home game saw a 1-1 draw against Boston.

We don’t enjoy the best of records at Alfreton  with just two wins, a record we will be looking to improve on Saturday.
