Southport v Brackley Town Match Preview. K.O. 3.00pm Saturday

It’s a top of the table clash on Saturday when we entertain Brackley Town who sit in 2nd place in the table.

Kick Off is at 3pm and tickets are available HERE with programmes on sale HERE

The 1881 Bar will be open showing the Leicester v Leeds game at 12.30 and Liverpool v West Ham match at 5.30pm.

Brackley come to Haig Avenue with an incredible 18 clean sheets from their 27 games. Southport have the second best clean sheet record in the league with 12.

Southport were buoyed by a great 1-0 win at play off chasing Hereford last Saturday with Charlie Oliver netting his first ever goal for the club from the spot to become the 406th player to score a Non League league goal for Southport.

The game at Brackley wasn’t a classic with Southport going down to a 1-0 defeat and The Sandgrounders will be all out to avoid conceding the first double defeat of the season.

Liam Watson said after the game at Hereford that he was looking forward to having most of the injured players back in action giving him a nice selection headache, the first for some time.

The picture above shows the players celebrating with the fans at Brackley, the first and only goal we have scored at St James’s Park when Jack Doyle scored deep into added time. A goal that was dedicated to our Club Statistician, Geoff Wilde who sadly passed away in Queenscourt Hospice on the night of the game. That one was for you Geoff.
